Developer Hour2 week promo

Stop wondering.
Ask the developer.

Events Manager is built to be flexible. So the question is often not “can it do this?” but “what is the best way to make my idea work?”

For the next two weeks, book a one-to-one hour with one of the people behind Events Manager. Bring your site, your business model, your next idea, or something you want the platform to do more elegantly. We will explore what is possible, the different ways you could approach it, and the capabilities you may not have realized were already within reach.

Your vision. Our platform knowledge. One hour to connect the two.

Go to the source

There is more than one way to build it.

Events Manager gives you the flexibility. That is the point of it, and it is also why an idea can usually be built three or four different ways, all of which work. What separates them is what each one makes easy later: what you can add on top of it, and where it starts to fight you as things grow. Those trade-offs compound, and they are much easier to weigh up before anything is built on one.

Developer Hour is direct access to the people who know the platform from the inside. You bring the idea and where you want to end up with it. We will show you the routes there, what each one opens up and what it rules out, and help you decide which fits.

  1. “Could Events Manager do this?”
  2. “Here’s how.”

You are getting the perspective that only comes from knowing the platform from the inside. Bring the vision. We will show you how far Events Manager can take it.

What the hour is for

Four things people bring.

See what's possible

You know what you want commercially or creatively. The hour shows you every way Events Manager could support it.

  • A new event concept
  • A booking flow or business model
  • Membership, recurring events, ticket structures
  • Integrations and automation ideas

Find the smartest route

One hour could reveal a much smarter way to build what you already have in mind.

  • Which of several valid approaches scales
  • What is native, what is a setting, what is code
  • Where a small change replaces a large build
  • The order to build things in

Building it for a client

Scoping it, quoting it, or halfway into it already. An hour early on can save a day spent building the version that has to be undone.

  • Whether a client requirement is supported before you quote it
  • Work already underway that may have a shorter route
  • An idea that can be sidestepped rather than built
  • What you hand over, and what someone has to maintain

Get more from what you run

Your setup works. Bring it anyway, and find out what the platform could still do for you.

  • Capabilities you have not switched on
  • A workflow you would like to be more elegant
  • Something you do by hand that could be automatic
  • A more ambitious version of what you have

Bring the ambitious one

Bring the site. Bring the vision. Bring the idea you have not quite worked out how to realize yet.

  • The booking model you are not sure how to structure.
  • The event concept that does not fit a standard template.
  • The client requirement that needs a more thoughtful approach.
  • The custom behavior you are considering building.
  • The workflow you want to make more elegant.
  • The idea where you suspect Events Manager could do more than you are asking of it.

This is the hour for that.

Straight answers

Sometimes the smartest solution is already there.

We have no custom-work quota to hit. If anything our time for custom work is limited, which is why the valuable thing we can hand you in a focused hour is the roadmap rather than the labor. Depending on what you bring, you may hear any of these.

  • That is already in there. Here is the setting.
  • There is a more elegant way to structure that.
  • You do not need custom development for that.
  • Yes, that one is worth building. Here is how I would approach it.

Agencies, freelancers and developers

A second opinion from someone who has read the source.

If you build on Events Manager for clients, the hour is architectural input from the inside: validation of an approach, a discussion of the advanced use case, or a walk through how far the platform extends. Useful before you write a line of code, and just as useful when you are already halfway in and suspect there is a shorter route than the one you are on.

There is more than one way to build it. Ask the people who know the platform inside out.

  • Before you quote the client.
  • Before you write the custom code.
  • Before you commit to an architecture.
  • Before you decide what the platform can and cannot do.
  • Or stuck mid-build, before you write any more of it.

Inside the hour

Spend sixty minutes shaping one big idea, or race through ten smaller ones. It’s your hour.

There is no script and no fixed agenda. Video or voice, whichever you prefer.

Bring

  • Your screen, with the live site on it
  • An idea you have not built yet
  • A business model, a booking flow, an ambitious use case
  • One big question, or a list of small ones

Leave with

  • A clear picture of what Events Manager can do with your idea
  • A recommended approach, and the reasons for it
  • What is native, what is a setting, and what would need custom work
  • A written recap afterward, so you are not relying on whatever you scribbled down while sharing your screen

2 week promo

Developers usually build Events Manager.
For two weeks, you can borrow one.

Our time normally goes into the plugin, which is why direct sessions are not something we sell all year. For the next two weeks we are opening a limited number of them. When those are taken, that is it until we do this again, if we do.

$199Usually $250

Book now, meet when it suits. The window is for booking. The session itself is arranged from the times we send you.

Before you book

Questions, answered.

One of the developers behind Events Manager. Not a partner agency, not a sales team, not someone reading from a script.

No. The two weeks is the booking window. Once you have booked, we send you times within one business day and the session is arranged from those, whenever suits both calendars.

At checkout you tell us roughly when you are free and what timezone you are in. We reply with times written in your timezone, you pick one, and we confirm it with a calendar invite. There is no widget selling slots, because a widget cannot see a developer's real calendar.

It is the best time to come. Bring the idea, the business model or a sketch of how your events need to work, and we will map it onto what Events Manager can do before anything is built.

Yes, and most people do. The hour goes further than you would expect when we are looking at the real site rather than describing it to each other. If your list is long, say so when you book and we will tell you what realistically fits.

Yes, if that is how you want to spend it. Worth knowing first: watching someone type is the slowest use of an hour, and a change made at speed on a call has not been scoped or tested. Most people get more from working out exactly what to build and how, then having it done properly afterward. We will tell you which we think you are better off with.

No. Developer Hour is open to anyone, on the free plugin or on Pro. If the smartest route to your idea runs through a Pro feature or custom work, we will say so plainly rather than steering you there by default.

Tell us before the confirmed time and we will move it, as many times as you reasonably need. A session missed without notice counts as delivered, because the time was held for you and could not go to anyone else.

Then you will leave knowing exactly what the bigger piece of work involves, and we will quote it properly rather than rushing it on the call. Nothing about the session obliges you to buy anything else.

You have already got the idea.

We know what Events Manager can do with it. $199, an hour with the person who can show you, and a written recap so nothing gets lost.
