Events Manager Setup Service

Set up for you by the people who build Events Manager.

Your calendar live, your tickets selling and your payments tested, without you reading another line of documentation. Fixed price, fixed scope, agreed before we start.

I am Marcus Sykes. I wrote Events Manager and I have maintained it ever since.

The problem

Events Manager does a lot. That is the point of it, and it is also why the first afternoon can be miserable.

Recurring events are where most people get stuck. It is the largest single subject in our support forum by a wide margin: series that will not show on the calendar once a category filter is applied, occurrences that need one date changed without touching the rest, patterns that look right in the editor and wrong on the front end.

After that it is the same short list, over and over:

  • Events showing on the calendar but not in the list, or the other way round
  • The calendar rendering wrongly inside your theme, or not at all
  • Tickets that need different prices, availability windows and limits per event
  • A payment gateway that connects but never confirms the booking
  • Booking confirmation emails that never arrive, or arrive from the wrong address
  • Attendee details collected once when you needed them for every place booked
  • Bookings that came across from another plugin with the dates mangled

None of it is unusual. All of it is an afternoon of your time, or a week of it, depending on how the first hour goes.

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick a package and pay

No call, no quote, no back and forth.

  2. 2

    Answer the brief

Around twenty questions, mostly multiple choice. Ten minutes.

  3. 3

    Give us access

A temporary administrator account, or a temporary login link. Never a password by email.

  4. 4

We build it, on a checklist you can see

The same checklist every time, so you know what is being done and when it is finished.

  5. 5

    Handover

A written record of every setting changed, a walkthrough video, and a support window.

Migration and custom work

For an organisation moving off Eventbrite, The Events Calendar, Modern Events Calendar or EventON, and running paid ticketing properly from day one. Quoted rather than bought, because migrations are not alike: four source plugins mean four different ways of storing recurrence, venues and custom fields, and recurring series have to be rebuilt rather than copied. Tell us what you are moving from and roughly how many events, and you will have a fixed price and a date within one business day. From $1,299.

Where we stop

Every package covers configuration inside Events Manager's own settings, on one website, without custom code. That fence is what lets us quote a fixed price and hit a fixed date. Here is what sits outside it, and where each thing goes instead.

Design and theme work. Making the result match your brand, meaning styling, layout, typography and custom templates, is design work. It has no natural stopping point, so it is not in a fixed-price package. We will tell you exactly what needs changing and your designer can do it.

Page building in Elementor, Divi or Beaver Builder. Writing your event content or sourcing images. Custom PHP, custom templates and custom hooks. Anything on a second website. Reserved seating, and booking or attendee history from another platform, are both quoted separately because both are genuinely bespoke.

We do not touch your other plugins beyond testing whether one of them is the cause of a problem, and we tell you before we deactivate anything. We also do not manage your DNS or your domain reputation. On email we send test messages and confirm they are dispatched and received. If SPF or DKIM records need changing we give you the exact records, and you or your host applies them.
